Editor's note: Our good friends at Wetpixel have organized a photo contest together with an NGO in the Raja Empat region in Indonesia. Raja Empat is an amazing dive destibnation with much need for protection and conservation.
Do you have the perfect Raja Ampat photo?
Is it one that truly captures the excitement and beauty of Raja Ampat diving?
Do you want to see it printed 5,000 times and attached to BCD’s the world over?
If so, then enter the official Raja Ampat 2008 park entrance tag design contest. Enter up to 2 photos or graphic designs to www.wetpixel.com/raja before the 9th October 2007. After finalists are accepted, you – and the public – will vote for the best until the 19th October 2007. The winner will be announced on the 25th October 2007.
Please submit digital images at a medium resolution image (up to 1024 x 1024 pixels maximum, no more than 500Kb in file size) in jpg format. On October 9th, finalists will be selected and asked to submit high resolution images.
When submitting an image, please bear in mind the limitations imposed by reproduction on a small (5 cm diameter), circular, plastic tag. The 2007 tag design can be found below for your reference. Note that images do not have to be submitted in circular format, though we will need to adapt images to the circular tag.
All submissions become the property of the Tim Pengelola (Management Team) for use in non-profit park management activities (e.g. village-education programs ,village posters, calendars, management presentations, etc). Any such use of submitted photos will include accreditation of photographer/designer’s name. Note that the winner will be required to submit a signed waiver, which grants the Tim Pengelola non-exclusive rights to the images/designs. Copies of the waiver can be obtained online at: www.wetpixel.com/raja
The winner of the tag design contest will receive one complimentary Raja Ampat diving package from one of the following dive operators:
