We shared news of some significant upgrades to Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC last week. Along with these changes—and perhaps more forthcoming—Adobe has discontinued support for older, legacy operating systems.
“To take advantage of the latest operating system features and technologies, the next major release of Creative Cloud will not support Windows 8.1, Windows 10 v1511 and v1607, and Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan),” Adobe wrote in a blog.
Essentially, if you have existing versions of the programs on older operating systems, they will continue to work. However, Adobe will no longer be providing updates and will instead focus on modern operating systems that support “features and functionalities most requested by members.” Read more, here.
