Adobe Announces Cloud-Based “Carousel” Photo Library
Today, Adobe announced the company’s latest software: Adobe Carousel. This Cloud-based photo library is designed to allow users access to edit, manage, and share their photos from multiple sources.
For example, if a photo is added to the Carousel program on a desktop, the same photo will be available from an iPhone, laptop, or one of many other mobile devices within seconds! Carousel is currently set up to work with the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4, as well as the iPad, iPad 2, and the 4th-generation iPod touch. It requires OSX Lion to run on desktop Macs.
While original copies of the photos are stored on the initial device, Adobe stresses the ability to continue work on a second, full resolution copy from a secondary source. The program even includes several sharing options, including social media like Facebook.
Adobe Carousel will be available later this month from the Adobe website or the Apple app store, for a free 30-day subscription. After this, users can continue to enjoy the product for $5.99 per month or $59.99 for year; and there is no limit on data storage. One current limitation is the ability to only share JPEG images.
