35th World Festival of Underwater Pictures

By Jason Heller, February 15, 2008 @ 10:00 PM (EST)

Editor's Note: DivePhotoGuide has been supporting the World Festival of Underwater Pictures at Antibes for several years now. This is one of the most prestigious, if not the most prestigious competition in the world. It is always in a great location with a very unique atmosphere (can anyone argue with the South of France?). We've met a lot of talented photographers and videographers and made new friends at Antibes. We look forward to reporting live from the event this November.

The 35th World Festival of Underwater Pictures will be held in Antibes A‚aˆ“ Juan-les-Pins A‚aˆ“ France, at the Convention Centre from October 29th to November 2nd 2008.

In Juan-les-Pins, the Festival-goers will find again the hotel opportunities, a better accessibility and undoubtedly some habits...

During the Festival, the competitorsA‚aˆ™ films, slides and slides-show will be screened into three rooms (Spondylia room: 300 seats; Merry Ferrer room: 100 seats; and a tent with a capacity of 600 seats).

Concerning exhibition space, 1000 m2 will be reserved for exhibitors. The main hall of the Convention Centre will host magazines, the exhibition of works in competition (still photographs)... and the bar of the Festival.
