Sharpening

While optical sharpness is defined by the quality of the lens and the sensor, image sharpness will create an "optical illusion" of sharpness by enhancing the edges of an image. When unprocessed (see "RAW"), digital images may appear slightly "soft" or even slightly out of focus.
