June 2011 Photo Contest

DPG is proud to announce that winning images for June’s monthly contest have been announced! The theme for June’s contest was “Ambient Light” and the winner of the contest and a $150 cash prize is Javier Sandoval.
Even without strobe light, Javier showed why underwater ambient light photography is just as rewarding with his fantastic image of an green, underwater forest.
In a rare occurrence, both second and third place awards were taken home by the same photographer- Jim Garland. Jim has continued his presence in the DPG monthly contest winner’s circle after taking home a first place prize in the Wreck contest last year.
A big thank you to the judges of this month’s contest- DPG editors Matt Weiss and Joseph Tepper, as well as award-winning photographers Keri Wilk, Jeff De Guzman, Mark Fuller, and Steve De Neef.
