Next NYUPS Event: Steve Barsky on May 6th
Join NYUPS for another special event! After we brought you David Doubilet, NYUPS keeps going strong in 2008 with Steve Barsky-author, photographer and videographer.
Steve is an accomplished author and underwater photographer. His photos have been used in numerous magazine articles, catalogs, advertising, training programs, and textbooks.
A prolific writer, Barsky’s work has been published in Alert Diver, Diver, Undersea Biomedical Reports, Santa Barbara Magazine, Selling Scuba, Scuba Times, Underwater Magazine, and many other publications. Steve has also produced six professional video projects including a CD-ROM for Viking dry suits and DVDs on Dry Suit Diving in Depth, The Simple Guide to Boat and Wreck Diving, California Marine Life Identification, and Choosing and Using Dive Computers. As the author of Underwater Digital Video Made Easy, Steve is able to talk with ease and authority on the subject of under water videography, and that’s exactly what Steve will talk about for NYUPS.
Steve talk will be on How to Get Started in Underwater Video, with particular attention to photographers who want to add video to the way they capture images underwater. If you already have a photographic eye, making the switch to video is not difficult, but it does involve a different way of telling stories. Steve will guide you through what’s involved in putting a video project together, including some clips from his own projects. As always, the admission to the event is free, but only by RSVP.
We are in the middle of switching websites, and a lot of the team is out diving so the current website is slightly out of date. We will update it soon.
