DEEP Indonesia Photo Competition Winners
DivePhotoGuide & Wetpixel are proud to formally announce the winners of the 2008 DEEP Indonesia International Underwater Photo Competition.
The competition is part of a series of international competitions under the brand UnderwaterCompetition.com. Now in the third year (2nd year for DEEP specifically), the competitions have become world renowned. The competition series is associated with dive expos on opposite sides of the world, namely Our World Underwater in Chicago, USA, which is both a photo & video competition, and DEEP Indonesia in Jakarta, Indonesia, which is photo-only. The competition series was established to offer a complementary series of categories and prizing opportunities, and this year awarded over US$80,000 In prizes. The winners alone spanned across 18 countries.

The competitions are open to all skill levels and included a category for images that focus on conservation and the marine environment, one for entries taken by compact digital cameras, and one specifically for Indonesian residents. All compact camera category entrants receive one free online underwater photography lesson courtesy of Marty Snyderman and TheUnderwaterPhotographer.com.
